Focused Projects
Clarify it. Shape it. Bring it into the world.
You know there is something in your business you want to create, change or move forward, but you're struggling to turn what is in your head into something clear and workable. That's where a Focused Project can help.
We work together on one specific thing. It might be an idea you need to clarify, an offer you want to shape, a message that no longer fits your business, or something you've been trying to bring into the world but can't quite get moving.
You May Already Have More Than You Realise
You may have an idea that keeps returning, years of experience you want to use differently, or several pieces of your business that you cannot quite bring together.
You may know that your business is ready to change, but not yet see what that change could become.
Or perhaps the work already exists. You have created the offer, programme, event or body of work, but need help communicating it and bringing it to the right people.
You don't necessarily need to start again.
Sometimes you need someone outside your business to help you see what is already there, decide what to do with it and turn it into something you can move forward with.
That is what Focused Projects are for.
Three Routes Into a Focused Project
Every project begins with where you are now and what you want to move forward.
You may need one route or a combination of two or three. We only work on what your project actually needs.
Clarify It
When you know something needs to change, but you're not sure what the answer is.
You might have several ideas and not know which one to pursue. You may know you want to do something differently but haven't decided what that should be yet. Or your business may have changed, and you're no longer sure what still fits.
A Clarify It project helps you make those decisions.
We might:
Talk through the ideas going around in your head and decide which deserve your attention.
Look at what you're already doing and decide what still fits.
Separate ideas that have become muddled together.
Work out what you want more of, less of or want to stop doing altogether.
Decide which direction makes most sense for your business now.
Clarify what you want to be known for.
Choose what to focus on first.
You finish knowing what you're moving towards, what you're leaving behind and what needs your attention now.
Shape It
When you know what you want to create but need help giving it a clear and practical form.
You may have the beginnings of an offer, workshop, programme, retreat, service or other piece of work.
You know what you want to create, but you haven't yet worked out exactly how it will work, what needs to be included or how to explain it to other people.
A Shape It project helps you turn the idea into something clear, structured and ready to develop.
We might:
Work out exactly what you are creating.
Decide who it is for and how it will help them.
Decide what needs to be included and what can be left out.
Organise your ideas or existing material into a clear structure.
Find a simple way to describe and talk about it.
Map out what needs to happen to complete it.
Decide what you can do yourself and where you may need help.
Create a plan that fits the time and capacity you actually have.
You finish knowing what you're creating, how the pieces fit together and what you need to do next.
Bring It Into the World
When you've created something and need help getting it in front of the right people.
You may have an offer, service, event, retreat, programme, book or other piece of work that is ready to share.
You know what you've created. Now you need to work out how to talk about it, where to talk about it and how you're going to promote it.
A Bring It Into the World project helps you create a practical plan for getting your work seen by the people it's for.
We might:
Work out the clearest way to explain what you've created and why it matters.
Decide who needs to hear about it and where you can reach them.
Work out what to say on your website, in emails and on social media.
Create a simple promotional timeline.
Make sure the information across your website and platforms works together.
Find ways to reuse writing, videos and other material you already have.
Decide what you will do, what I will help with and where another specialist may be needed.
Create a promotional plan you can realistically manage.
You finish knowing what you need to say, where you need to say it and what you need to do to get your work in front of the right people.
One Project, Clearly Defined
Focused Projects are not ongoing social media management or open-ended business coaching.
We choose one specific thing to work on and agree what you need from me before we begin.
Your project might involve one route, or move through more than one. What matters is that we are clear about what we're working towards, what is included and where my involvement ends.
What Your Project May Include
The support and materials will depend on the project we agree on together.
They may include:
Focused conversations to help you think through your ideas.
A review of what you have already created.
A written summary of what we have clarified and decided.
Clear wording for your idea, offer or project.
A practical step-by-step plan.
A promotion or launch timeline.
A plan for your website, emails or social media.
Materials I create for you as part of the project.
A clear record of what you will do, what I will do and where someone else may be needed.
A final handover so you know what happens next.
Every project is different, so you won't necessarily need everything on this list. Before we begin, you'll know exactly what is included, what I will do and what you will do.
A Project With Clear Boundaries
Every Focused Project has:
One clear result we are working towards.
A written agreement showing what is and isn't included.
A clear list of what I will provide.
An agreed start and finish date.
A fixed fee agreed before we begin.
An agreed way to keep in touch while we're working together.
An agreed number of opportunities to review the work and make changes.
A final handover of everything we've agreed.
A clear finish, with the option to work together again on another project.
New ideas often appear while we're working together. If something new comes up that isn't part of the project we've agreed, we can decide whether to extend the project or save it for another one.
How It Works
1. Tell Me About Your Project
Use the enquiry form to tell me what you're thinking about, creating or getting ready to share.
You don't need to have everything worked out. Just tell me what's happening, where you're stuck and what you'd like help with.
2. We See If It's a Good Fit
I'll read your enquiry and see whether it's something I can help you with.
If it looks like a good fit, we'll have a conversation about what you need and what working together could look like.
3. You Receive a Proposal
I'll put together a proposal showing what we'll work on, what I'll provide, the timescale and the fixed project fee.
You'll know exactly what is included before you decide whether to go ahead.
4. We Work on the Project
Once you've agreed, we begin.
How we work together will depend on the project. It might include conversations, planning, reviewing what you already have, creating materials or a mixture of these.
5. You Receive a Clear Handover
At the end, you'll receive everything we've agreed, along with your next steps.
You'll know what happens next and what you can take forward yourself.
Why Work With Sandra?
I bring years of experience across business, social media strategy, content, messaging, launches and online visibility.
But I also know that the answer isn't always to do more.
I'll listen to what you're trying to do, ask questions and help you sort through the ideas, information and possibilities that are already there.
I'll share what I see, help you make decisions, and, where we've agreed it as part of the project, help you create the practical pieces you need.
I won't give you a formula, tell you to be everywhere or push you towards something that doesn't feel right for your business.
The project is built around what you're trying to achieve, the time and capacity you have, and how you want to work.
Which Route Would Help You Move Forward?
You don't need to know which route you need before you contact me.
Tell me what you're working on, what's already there and where you're getting stuck.
I'll have a look at what you send and, if I think I can help, we'll arrange a conversation to talk it through.
Every project is scoped and priced individually, so you'll know exactly what we're working on and what it will cost before you decide to go ahead.
